Upon completion of these knowledge-based activities, the pharmacist will be able to: Identify changes to vaccine recommendations necessary for compliance with standards of practice, Apply recent changes to guidelines to their vaccination program, and evaluate information on new or future vaccines for potential use in their practice.
This 2 1/2 day course focuses on new developments and issues related to the use of vaccines. Expert faculty provide the latest information on both current and prospective vaccines, updated recommendations for vaccinations across the lifespan, and innovative and practical strategies for ensuring timely and appropriate vaccination essential to improving disease prevention efforts.
This is the 22nd annual conference and it will include national speakers, updates on immunizations and opportunities to network with other private and public health professionals from across the state. All healthcare team members are welcome to join the conference and continuing education credits will be provided.
The summit is hosted by the Immunization Partnership and Houston Community College. The 3 day event will cover topics to include Affordable healthcare act, building partnerships, measles outbreak review, communication strategies, basic epi for non epidemiologists, HPV, vaccine administration updates, utilizing social media and many more lectuers presented by national experts from the CDC, Children's Hospital of Philly and Texas. Continuing education credits will be offered.
Hosted by the Adult Immunization Coalitions of Northeastern NY, topics of discussion include; CDC update, promoting flu vaccine, campaign to vaccinate all New Yorkers, bacterial meningitis, and utilizing the state registry. Continuing education credits will be available.

For infants, particularly newborns, exposure to vaccine-preventable diseases can result in serious and often, life-threatening illness. Unfortunately, all too often, parents or other family members are the source of exposure. Dr. Shetal Shah, a Neonatologist with the Stony Brook University Medical Center, will share his innovative work in addressing this public health problem through the promotion and administration of vaccines to parents in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting. After watching this broadcast participants will be able to: Explain the role the NICU can play in the public health protection of neonates, Describe NICU-based administration of influenza vaccine, and Describe protocols for Tetanus, Diphtheria, Acellular Pertussis, (TDap) Vaccines.
You Call the Shots is an interactive, web-based immunization training course. It consists of a series of modules that discuss vaccine-preventable diseases and explain the latest recommendations for vaccine use. Each module provides learning opportunities, self-test practice questions,reference and resource materials, and an extensive glossary. The course is available free of charge on the CDC Vaccines and Immunizations website.

IAC works to increase immunization rates and prevent disease by creating and distributing educational materials for health professionals and the public that enhance the delivery of safe and effective immunization services. The Coalition also facilitates communication about the safety, efficacy, and use of vaccines within the broad immunization community of patients, parents, health care organizations, and government health agencies.
